In what way hair loss affects our lives and how strong is its influence for our psychology? May it lead on anxiety disorder or even depression?
This is the main field of the new research cooperation between DHI Global Medical Group and the Professor of Psychiatry in the University of Athens, Charalambos Papageorgiou, which is aimed at in-depth study and exploration of psychiatric dimensions of hair diseases, in order to determine the necessity of combinatorial access of these conditions and any underlying psychopathology.
The research will study the following parameters:
- Hair disorders frequency connection with Psychopathology
- Detection psychopathological entities associated with hair disorders
- Primary secondary effect of hair growth disorders in Psychopathology
- Evaluation of the causative stress contribution directly and through the endocrine and immune system
All data results from the study will contribute to identify specific psychopathological problems such as anxiety and depression. Also, the patients will be informed and there will be given specific therapeutic proposals. The research project will be completed in four phases, with a total duration of 12 months.
