Movember: Why Are Men Growing Their Beards Out?

By 1st November 2018 No Comments

Movember (a portmanteau of the Australian- English diminutive word for moustache “mo” and “November”) is an annual event involving the growing of moustaches and beards during the month of November to raise awareness of men’s health issues, such as prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and men’s suicide and more. The goal of Movember is to “change the face of mens health”.

By encouraging men to get involved, Movember aims to increase early cancer detection, diagnosis and effective treatments, and ultimately reduce the number of preventable deaths. Besides annual check-ups, the Movember encourages men to be aware of family history of cancer and to adopt a healthier lifestyle.

Each year, DHI Global Medical Group is actively participating in the Movember movement, offering special rates for beard restoration treatments throughout the month. At the same time, it urges all those who have noticed that they lose hair, to diagnose their hair loss with the new revolutionary tests that have been developed in collaboration with academics of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.

The mobilization of men in the fight against serious health issues is an absolute priority for DHI. After all, this is the Group’s philosophy. For DHI, hair loss is a systemic disease and needs always a personalized systemic treatment. Your hair can provide insight into your overall health and well-being and we are here to help you become the healthier, happier version of you, for a lifetime!
